Father detonates two grenades at son's murder trial

A GRIEVING father has detonated two grenades at his son's murder trial in Ukraine killing himself and injuring seven more.

The deadly attack took place inside a court in Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region in the east of the country, according to The Sun.

Authorities have confirmed that seven people have been wounded by shrapnel and at least one person has died, reports the Kiev Post.

Dnipropetrovsk regional police released a statement revealing that three defendants were among those who were injured by the blasts.

The statement read: "Today, on November 30, at 11.20, in the Nikopol court, during a hearing of the case on murder, the father of a victim pulled out two grenades and blew them up.

"The man died on the spot after the explosion.

Three defendants, two convoy officers, a court employee and a civilian were injured. All victims were taken to hospital."
