Griffin rates Kelly a Blues Origin chance

BRISBANE Broncos coach Anthony Griffin admits Gold Coast danger man Albert Kelly could be "sensational" coming off the bench for NSW in Origin.

The livewire Kelly has crossed for six tries in five games this season, including two doubles, and Griffin knows one of his biggest challenges in tonight's derby against the Titans will be minimising the halfback's influence, particularly from broken play.

The Titans go into the clash on the top of NRL table, but the third-placed Brisbane, which has dominated the Gold Coast in recent years, is a warm favourite.

Griffin complimented the Titans' representative pack, and also Kelly's great early season form, saying he was now up to playing Origin.

"I think he definitely could play a role off the bench for them (NSW)," Griffin told APN yesterday.

"I wouldn't think he'd be a starting halfback just yet, but he'd be sensational off the bench.

"He's toughened up his defence and he can play fullback, in the halves, hooker ... you could even throw him out on the wing."

The Titans hope to have five-eighth Aidan Sezer back from a quad injury for the showdown on the glitter strip, and Griffin said he wouldn't be surprised if William Zillman (hamstring) was a late inclusion at fullback.
