Grinners are the favourites in Warwick volleyball

VOLLEYBALL: Semi finals will be played on Monday night in Warwick Volleyball Association fixtures at the John Muir Centre at Scots PGC College.

Grinners took out the ladies season one grand final and look on track to be a contender again in the season two grand final early next month.

Led by Allyne Waters, Grinners have had a solid year with Lisa Bergemann and teenagers Jordan Neal and Jacqui Richmond-Clay playing extremely well to support Waters in the ladies competition.

Stopping them from going back to back premiers will be Newbees led by Leslie Clayton, Allstars lead by Rae Lewis and Emma Lowe's Ball Busters.

In the men's competition, Deadwood took out season one against the very competitive NADS outfit, but new teams Foursome, Sleathcats and Dipsticks are making a challenge for the season two grand final rights.

Mixed team Reloaded won the first season and are also storming towards the finals of season two. Reloaded is an experienced team led by mother and daughter duo Marianne and Lesley Clayton.

Second on the ladder is Kiss My Ace led by Wendy Hoffman followed by Blake Costello Alcos and new side Saints featuring young players Tiarna King and Kyarnee King-Taylor.

Warwick volleyball is played Monday nights at the John Muir Centre from 6pm and spectators are welcome to watch.

The 2018 season will begin late January and new teams of four players in ladies and mens or six in mixed are invited to join.

More details are on the Warwick Volleyball Association Facebook page or by text to Lisa Bergemann 0419770314.

Individual players also welcome to join and will be put in a team.
