Gross and Poole two of the best in club game
CRICKET: Lachlan Gross and Kev Poole were the stars as Warwick Hotel Colts beat Wheatvale by 134 runs in the Sunday game in the Condamine Cup at Slade Park.
Batting first, Colts made 227. Gross opened the batting and hit 82 and Fraser McVeigh was 44 not out.
Hayden Doherty was the best of the Wheatvale bowlers with 3-16 off six overs. Steve Jones and Lachlan Boal each took two wickets.
Last weekend, Colts made 92 so there has been a dramatic improvement in the side's batting.
Wheatvale was dismissed for 93 with Boal top scoring with 21. Poole took 3-26 to be the best bowler for Colts. James Fern took 2-10 off three overs.
In the game at Inglewood, the home side made 179 to beat the Railway Hotel Rascals score of 146.
Tom Morris made 77 for Rascals and Darren Apted took 3-33 off five overs.
