Gross continues his magical form in Colts cricket win
CRICKET: If you want to beat Warwick Hotel Colts in anything from a grand final to a club fixture, there is one rule.
Get Lachlan Gross out early.
The Colts opener hit 137 in the Colts win against Inglewood at Slade Park on Saturday and his team won by 92 runs. He has been in great form in club cricket and scored a Mitchell Shield hundred against Stanthorpe this season.
His innings yesterday was one of the three highest this season. He joins Nick Inmon, 161 not out, and Shane Hooper who passed 130 early in the season in the top three.
Gross scored 137 out of 249 all out, his best support came from Cameron Peterson who belted 68. No other batsman made double figures which must be a concern for captain Shaun "Robbo” O'Leary as the finals approach.
Darren Apted was used as fifth change bowler for Inglewood and took 5-31 off six overs.
Inglewood made 167.
