Gymnasts jump into titles

SAMANTHA Pearson competed at the Queensland Gymnastics State Championships on Sunday and Monday this week, and was very pleased with her results.

The Warwick-based gymnast competed in the level 4 individual competition which was held on Sunday and involved completing routines on all apparatus which include vault, bars, beam and floor.

Samantha’s best routine was on beam where she scored 14.05 and was 10th on this apparatus. Her overall total score was 54.05 which gave her an overall position in the state of 19th.

Samantha was also selected as a member of the Darling Downs team which competed in the Regional Team Challenge which was held on Monday.

The Darling Downs team was selected from the top-six competitors who attended the regional championships last month. Samantha was second overall in the team event and her team came sixth at the Regional Team Challenge.

Samantha started Gymnastics just more than three years ago and after training at the Warwick Gymnastics Club for three years now travels to train at the All-stars Gymnastics Academy in Toowoomba.
