Hard-working women give relief to farmers facing drought
WITH so much of the state drought-declared, QCWA is here to help through the Public Rural Crisis Fund.
Donations to this fund are tax deductible and all money received is used to assist those who need a hand up.
No administration charges are taken from this fund.
QCWA members are very proud to be able to offer this type of support to the women and their families suffering in this drought, an uncontrollable element of their daily lives.
They are currently assisting farmers and their families with household support in every part of Queensland.
About $300,000 has been spent each year to show our farmers we care and want to help.
The support is in the form of grocery vouchers, store credit or being able to pay some overdue accounts (such as electricity, phone, doctor, etc). Every dollar that is donated to the QCWA goes directly to those in need.
You don't have to be a farmer to receive assistance. This fund is available to all in crisis who need some help.
Phone the QCWA state office on 3026 1220 or go to www.qcwa.org.au. Click on the "What we do” tab and find "Public Rural Crisis Fund” in the drop-down menu and you can apply online.
