HARVEST LUNCH: Top shelf food in a first-class setting

MORE THAN 100 gourmet fans headed to Melrose Station at Killarney yesterday for the annual Southern Downs Harvest Lunch.

Guest were treated to canapes and champagne on the sweeping lawns of the property, before being ushered into one the station's historic old sheds for lunch in a typically rustic setting.

Making the trip all the way from the Sunshine Coast were Carol and Jo Seeger and when they heard about the event, invited Hervey Bay couple Roz and Peter Pagliarino along for the trip.

"Roz was actually born on a property called Melrose near Pittsworth, so it was a nice coincedence and we thought we'd all love to come down for a look,” Mrs Seeger said.

"We've both bought our caravans along for a week stay and are all set up over at the caravan park in Killarney.

"We're planning to make the most of the area and see as much as we can while we're here.

"It's very beautiful and scenic and we're looking forward to exploring.”
