Have a big laugh at jumpers and jazz

JUMPERS and Jazz in July is set to play host to one of the nation's most loved comedians and authors.

That's right, stand-up comedian Denise Scott will be performing during Warwick's Jumpers and Jazz in July Festival.

Warwick Tourism and Events CEO Tracy Vellacott said the comedy show would take part on Sunday, July 19.

"Organisers of what we have traditionally referred to as our Women's Winter Wellness Event on the first Sunday arvo, wanted to create something different to previous years," she said.

Mrs Vellacott said they happened across a Facebook post from Denise Scott where she confessed her passion for crochet.

"After that we knew she was our girl," she said.

"We are looking forward to putting the very best of the region on show for her in the hope that she will go forth and be an ambassador for our festival and the Southern Downs.

"There is already a great buzz around Denise's appearance so we are looking forward to a capacity crowd to share a witty and warm afternoon of fun with Denise." For those who do not know, Denise has had a very accomplished career as both a comedian and writer.

She first started working as a professional actor and comedian close to 30 years ago.

In the past decade she has gone supernova- winning awards and holding sellout shows at some of the nation's largest theatres.

The witty and inspiring afternoon event, which is sure to leave all guests with aching sides, will be held in the Warwick Town Hall on Sunday July 19 from 3.30pm.

Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased via http://www.warwicktickets.com.au or by phoning 4661 9073.
