Pig and Calf sale brings back fond memories for Brisbanites

COMING along to their first cattle sale in over a decade, Brisbane residents Jim and Gwen Milgate say the Warwick Pig and Calf Sale has an atmosphere that brings up fond memories of living out in the country.

The couple had travelled to visit good friends Doug and Avis Stehn, who live in Clintonvale.

"Jim and Gwen were our travelling companions overseas," Avis said.

"We wanted to show them our region - the Pig and Calf Sale is unique to the local area.

"There is such a variety of things for sale, there is something here for everyone."

The Milgates lived on a 50 acre property in Mount Mee before they moved to Brisbane and said it was something about the Pig and Calf Sale that gave a taste of the relaxed country lifestyle.

"It definitely stirs up some good memories - the country is in our blood," Gwen said.

"I just love the great vibe here.

"It is a good day out and we thought we would come and have a look-see.

"Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves, whether it is getting together and having a chat or buying and selling something."
