Giddy-up! Jump on the Heavy Horse Day bandwagon

MICK Bradford is back with his annual charity Heavy Horse Day event on Sunday.

A wet start to the year caused Mr Bradford to postpone the charity event from May but now he's hoping the crowds from Warwick Campdraft and Rodeo will help bring in some donations.

As many as 1000 people are expected at Mr Bradford's Yangan property on Sunday, and they're certainly in for a treat.

"Hopefully there will be a fancy wagon here with a team of horses," he said.

"I'll have eight horses going in a big wagon with 16 bales of wool on the back

"I've had the horses out on the road in the wagon and they're ready to go."

There will be plenty to try, see and taste for all ages with a variety of food stalls selling damper, pancakes and ice cream. "It's all about the heritage side of life," Mr Bradford said.

"It's great for the kids and the young ones to see what it's all about.

"We'll have all the old machines working as best as we can."

This year is the 15th year that Mr Bradford has hosted the day at his Yangan property.

Entry is $10 and funds raised will go to RACQ CareFlight.

The Heavy Horse Day begins at 9am at 122 Swanfels Rd, Yangan.
