Hectic weekend of Queens Park footy

FOOTBALL: For the second week in succession, Queens Park and Hamilton Oval were overflowing with boys and girls playing football in Warwick.

Yesterday, round 2 of South West zone games were played as well as some friendlies between the Warwick Wolves Academy squads.

Teams travelled from as far as South Burnett.

In the premier division, Warwick was runner-up in the under-12 grade and was unplaced in the under-13 and under-15 grades.

The South West zone teams for the Gold Coast Cup were announced yesterday to play at the Gold Coast in September.

Warwick is well represented with 16 players in the four zone teams who will train in Toowoomba for the next three months.

Warwick academy director of coaching Tim Gaske is coach of the under-12 zone team.

There were 250 children in action yesterday after 620 played in a regional carnival in Warwick last weekend.
