HELP: Do you know these people?
A STUNNING snapshot of Warwick history has been uncovered in Kings Theatre.
The clear and unblemished photograph, depicts about 800 locals and is believed to have been taken on the night Kings Theatre reopened in 19 September 1951.
Warwick RSL Memorial Club manager John Gartside said he found the photograph underneath a pile of boxes upstairs in the old building.
"You can see so many faces clearly and I want to see if we can find out who they are,” he said.
"There are 800 stories in that photograph and I want to find some of them.
"Let's record them before they disappear.”
Mr Gartside asked anyone who might know anyone in the photo or have information to pop in and share it.
"If you can spot someone or were around at the time, we want to hear from you,” he said.
"Come on in and we'll shout you a coffee or a beer and have a chat.”
Mr Gartside said he had the photo enlarged.
"Creed and Lang did a a great job to blow it up to 2.4m x 1.2m,” he said.
Also uncovered where a photo from 1922 when Harry Houdini hung upside down from the building to perform an escapology stunt in front of a large crowd, and a pen and ink drawing of His Majesty's Theatre celebrating the opening in 1920.
Mr Gartside said there were many pther photos still to sift through.
"This is the communities RSL,” he said.
"These people are all part of the story.”
