Help from the public leads to arrest on drug charges

TWO people will face Stanthorpe Magistrates Court after being intercepted by Wallangarra police at 4pm Saturday in Curtin Rd, Ballandean, just off the New England Highway.

Sergeant Alan Baker said the vehicle was intercepted as a result of a member of the public reporting the vehicle being driven erratically at roadworks on the New England Highway through Stanthorpe.

"A 23-year-old man from Goondiwindi was charged with driving under the influence of an illicit substance and had his license suspended and he will face Stanthorpe Magistrates Court in July,” Sgt Baker said.

"A woman passenger in the car from Goondiwindi, aged 27, was charged with possession of a quantity of marijuana and methylamthetamine.”

She will front Stanthorpe Magistrates Court in April.
