Allora Heritage Weekend hits top gear for 20th year
EVERY highway, road and track will lead to Allora this weekend for the annual Allora Heritage Weekend.
For two full days the showgrounds will be transported back in time with historic machinery and vehicles of the past century.
The Allora Heritage Weekend is held at the Allora Showgrounds every year on the Australia Day long weekend and is organised by the Warwick Veteran and Vintage Vehicle Club.
Veteran and Vintage Vehicle Club president Peter Stacy said this year would be bigger and better than ever as the festival celebrates 20 years.
"There will be Mick Bradford from Yangan with his team of heavy horses, and one-man sawmill Ralph Affleck as guests of honour for the weekend," he said.
"I hope people take the time to meet Ralph and have a conversation with him.
"Mick Bradford's heavy horses will be next to Ralph, so visitors will be afforded every opportunity to get up close and take photos."
This year there will be a huge display of all British and American tractors, British cars, Mack trucks, Southern Cross engines and early American motorcycles.
There will be plenty for spectators to soak up over the two days, with vintage and veteran cars and trucks, antique and historical machinery, motorcycles, horse-drawn machinery, country music and bush poets.
Patrons can forage at a massive swap meet tomorrow and Sunday, and a feature of the weekend is a cent sale held in aid of the Warwick Disability Support Group.
