More than 900 tickets have been sold for Guy Sebastian's concert at Maryborough's Brolga Theatre on June 4.

Sellout show at Brolga and a waiting list for popular Guy

AFTER Guy Sebastian's tour date at Maryborough's Brolga Theatre sold out quickly when tickets went on sale, general manager Ron Murray was still faced with hundreds of others who wanted to see the performer in concert.

"It pretty well sold out the day they went on sale," Murray said.

That was more than 900 tickets sold for the show on June 4 - and Murray had 350 people on a waiting list in case a second performance at the Brolga became available.

Alas it was not to be - Murray contacted Sebastian's management team to make the request but a second show was not able to fit into the singer's schedule.

"Unfortunately due to other commitments he wasn't able to do it," he said.

Murray said next time a big performer visited, the Brolga would explore the option of having the event outside, which would open up the possibility of a much larger crowd.

"That is something we need to look at in the future," he said.

Murray said it was great to have a performer of Sebastian's calibre performing.

"He's obviously at the top of his game and quite a successful recording artist," he said.

Murray said while the Sebastian show had sold out, the Bolshoi Ballet would be screened for free at Seafront Oval in Hervey Bay on the same night.

The ballet will be performed at QPAC in Brisbane with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and no tickets are required to attend.
