Man, 71, killed after highway truck rollover

A MAN has been killed in a truck rollover in the Somerset region on Monday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the Brisbane Valley Highway in Yimbun, north of Esk just before 3pm, where a truck moving grain had rolled and then caught alight.

Police have since confirmed that a 71-year-old man was found dead at the scene.

No other persons were in the vehicle.

The Brisbane Valley Highway was closed for several hours following the crash, but has since reopened.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
