Highway lane shut after car, semi-trailer collision

A MAN suffered back injuries in a collision between a semi-trailer and car on the Southern Downs today.

The New England Highway has been reduced to one lane near Coochie Rd at Dalveen where a man was trapped in the vehicle in the collision reported about 4.05pm.

The crash blocked the southbound lane of the highway as Queensland Ambulance paramedics worked with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services to first access the man, then treat him.

The driver of the semi-trailer was out of the vehicle when emergency services arrived on scene.

Police were conducting traffic control as the scene was cleared.
