Truck fire contained to tyre, scene clear

UPDATE: Emergency services have left the scene of a suspected truck fire on the Cunningham Hwy west of Warwick.

They did not need to close the highway after clearing the scene.

EARLIER: Police have been called to close the Cunningham Hwy after a truck transporting diesel caught fire.

The truck is located 5km east of Karara.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews responded about 8.30am to the incident, which was reported as a truck with a tyre on fire.

However, thermal imaging is showing high temperatures and there are concerns that the truck could catch fire.

Police are currently responding. They have been called to close the section of highway to keep other motorists clear of the incident.
