HOCKEY: Caitlin and Nadia stand-outs
HOCKEY: Caitlin Schnitzerling and Nadia Gaffney were two of the stand-outs in defence in ladies hockey on Saturday at Queens Park.
Schnitzerling played well for a Corinthians/Wyverns side which won 4-1 against the Harlequins team which included Gaffney.
In Condamine Sports Club Super League on Friday night, Warriors beat River Hawks 6-0 in the men’s game. Chicks With Sticks beat She Girls 1-0 in the ladies game.
The next round of games are on July 29 and the third round will be on August 12.

Men's: Harlequins 6 (Jack Coy 2, Declan Coy 2, Peter Wallace 1, Greg McDonald 1) def. Saints 2 (Jacob Fitch 2). David Jordan (Harlequins) and Dave Bergemann (Saints) both defended well in the backs.
Corinthians 2 (Matt Hagenbach 1, Jamie Ollerton 1) def. Wyverns 1 (Simon Rolfe 1). Adam Byrne (Corinthians) and Ross Newton (Wyverns) both defended well stopping a lot of shots on goal.
Ladies: Corinthians/ Wyverns 4 (Sam McMahon 1, Danielle Cook 1, Isabella Behr 1, Leisa Nowlan 1) def. Harlequins 1 (Emma Eastwell 1). Caitlin Schnitzerling (Corinthians/Wyverns) and Nadia Gaffney (Harlequins) stopped a lot of balls in the centre of the field.
Saints 5 (Sharon Williams 2, Nat Webb 2, Kerri Fitch 1) def. Harlequins 3 (Celene Keleher 1, Emma Eastwell 1, Rebecca Nolan 1). Sian Hegarty (Saints) and Kate Jordan (Harlequins) played well all over the field for their teams.
