Hockey set to hit off on Saturday
THERE will be more hockey in 2015 compared to last season according to Warwick Hockey Association president Gary Millard.
Junior fixtures will start for the season at 9am Saturday with more players welcome at the grounds at Queens Park.
Players, aged five and above, are catered for in Warwick hockey.
Senior fixtures will start at 3pm Saturday with the ladies game between premiers Wyverns and Harlequins.
All four clubs, Wyverns, Saints, Corinthians and Harlequins will field teams in men and women with Scots PGC playing the women's competition.
Mixed hockey has reverted to mid-week with the first games on Tuesday night at Queens Park.
Millard said more players could register in any competition on Saturday but registrations need to be processed prior to play, 9am for juniors and 3pm for seniors.
"There will be more competition games than last year in senior men's with six rounds," he said.
Warwick will play host to the state under-15 boys championships in the September school holidays.
Last season, the Warwick U15 team travelled to Townsville.
Warwick teams will again play in representative hockey from U11 to masters.
