Wyverns on fire with 7-2 thrashing

A BRISK Friday evening started the second half of the Warwick Hockey season.

In the ladies competition, Corinthians put up a gallant fight against the mixed Under 15’s to trail only 1 - 0 at half time. After two goals by Hayley Millard, Corinthians looked like they were in with a fighting chance. However, some great play by Jake Reid and Ryan Collins for Under 15’s mixed saw the mixed Under 15’s prevail, 6-2.

In the men’s competition, Wyverns defeated Harlequins 7 - 2. Wyvern’s player, Robert Eastwell managed to slip three goals past Harlequins goalkeeper Anthony Duncan who had a brilliant game.

On Saturday, Saints ladies defeated Harlequins 7 - 0. Saints players Bonita Tyler and Bianca Fitch both had outstanding games while Jane Roper had a great game for Harlequins.

There will be no hockey tomorrow. Warwick has an U13 boys team in Rockhampton this week.
