Brendan Hoffman shatters meet butterfly record
SWIMMING: Warwick State High School student Brendan Hoffman broke a 50m butterfly record at the Warwick All Schools Carnival at Allora on Monday night.
Hoffman swam 33.12 seconds in 13 years to break a record held by former Scots PGC student and Youth Olympic medallist Max Ackermann who swam 34.55 in 2005.
Allora State School won the Allora P and C Trophy for the overall average school trophy based on number of points divided by school enrolment.
Assumption College won the Nell Foote Cup for junior girls supremacy, the EJ Portley Trophy for junior girls relay and the Nell Foote aggregate trophy for seniors.
The Robert Reid Memorial Trophies for most outstanding swimmers were won by Assumption student Dimity Brackin and Scots PGC swimmer James Gilmore.
In the boys, Scots PGC won the Barnes Cup for boys junior aggregate and the EJ Portley Memorial trophy for junior boys relay .
The Barnes Trophy for senior boys was won by Warwick High which also won the Merv Lancaster Memorial Trophy for senior boys and girls relays.
Clifton State High School were competing in the Warwick All Schools for the first time.

- 13 years Toby Gilmore (Scots PGC), Grace Parsons (Assumption) and Lucy Mantova (Clifton)
- 14 years: Lachlan Henry (Assumption) and Anna Dowdle (Clifton)
- 15 years: Michael Coleman (Assumption) and Paris Milburn (Assumption)
- 16 years: Sam McLennan (Assumption) and Sarah Mantova (Clifton)

IMPRESSIVE: Assumption student Dimity Brackin was named the most outstanding female swimmer at the carnival.
