HOLIDAY RETREATS: Where mega-rich stay on the Coast
CELEBRITIES and sports stars are boosting the rise of short-term stays at elite Sunshine Coast homes, where thousands of dollars can get you a night at your own "home hotel".
The next generation of luxury travel is pioneered by Australian start-up Luxico, which is bringing the benefits of home-stay accommodation to the top end of the market with its elite collection of listings.
Superstars from Novak Djokovic, the Beckhams and some of the biggest music stars on tour are among those drawn away from hotel suites towards luxury holiday homes.
Three Sunshine Coast homes are currently listed with the luxury home-stay company, and are reported to be favourites among celebrities seeking a coastal escape.
While the company confirmed a-listers have stayed at the properties, they could not be named due to privacy reasons.
The three Sunshine Coast homes listed with Luxico offer breathtaking ocean and coastal views and every imaginable luxury.
Properties such as Azure at Sunshine Beach cost upwards of $5500 per night and with its jaw-dropping views, it's easy to see why.
Azure was built by multi-award winning developer Glen Watson, with no expense spared.
The sleek architectural lines are offset with sophisticated finishes, cascading water features, lush, tropical gardens and stunning views.
Interior designer Deborah Miller has created a sense of serenity and peacefulness; with finishes including imported Italian Carrara marble floors, designer lighting and award-winning kitchen and master ensuite.
The property boasts four bedrooms, a cinema room, wine cellar and an infinity swimming pool with some of the Coast's most sought-after views.
Luxico co-founder and CEO Alexandra Ormerod said the company offered the privacy, exclusivity, space and comfort of a home coupled with the service of a hotel.
From securing celebrity chefs to cook dinner, to personal whale watching sessions and surf lessons with a professional surfer, nothing was too much, she said.
Another bonus was a 24/7 personal concierge service attending to every request no matter how large or small - from pastry deliveries to portable Jacuzzis.
"Luxury travel is all about personalisation, so Luxico's concierge manage requests such as sourcing the best local dining and catering options, suggesting activities and providing all the bells and whistles - such as a toy box for the kids and a gourmet hamper of local produce for all guests," Ms Ormerod said.
Acting as the middle-man, Luxico works with homeowners and guests to give everyone peace of mind that the property and experience would be managed to a 5-star standard, she said.
The company has hand-picked a selection of 180 five-star standard properties in premium holiday locations from a pool of 900 homes that applied online (one in eight makes the cut).
They were chosen based on location, architecture and amenities - particularly in Queensland, having a private pool or private beach access to escape the heat.
The homes will be automatically listed on Airbnb Plus - the recently launched premium tier of the platform.
