Holmes back for the Reds

ALLORA prop Greg Holmes is back in the Queensland Reds side for the clash against the Canterbury Crusaders tonight at Suncorp Stadium.

Holmes missed the first two Reds trial games this season with a rib injury but impressed in a Reds curtain-raiser last weekend.

Coach Ewan McKenzie has also brought Wallaby tourist Leroy Houston on to the bench.

“Experience against a quality side like the Crusaders you’re going to need if you want to match them the whole way across the 80 minutes,” McKenzie said.

“You go into these games with 22 players and the squad has to deliver a result.

“Players might get two minutes or 20 minutes, but you have to make the team go better.

“As an impact player, Leroy is a good proposition for us. It’s the same with Greg Holmes.”
