HOONING: Drink driver does burnouts in Warwick

A WARWICK woman was allegedly doing burnouts around Warwick Cemetery about 8.15pm last night, prompting a call to police from a member of the public.

Warwick Police Sergeant Greg Burton said the 39-year-old was charged with a number of offences, including driving a defective vehicle and a hooning offence.

The woman was also given a breath test at the scene at reportedly returned a reading of 0.120, so she was also charged with drink driving.

Sgt Burton said the number plates on the car were removed due to the hooning offence, rendering the car immobile.

The woman will not be allowed to drive the car for 90 days.

She has also been scheduled to appear at Warwick Magistrates Court on December 20.

Sgt Burton said police had received a few complaints related to hooning around the cemetery in recent weeks.

"Members of the public should continue to report this kind of behaviour,” he said.

Anyone who witnesses hooning is encouraged to phone Warwick Police on 46604444 or Policelink on 131444.
