Hop along to Easter Markets to find 80 art, food stalls

EASTER eggs aren't the only goodies you can fill your basket today.

Art, craft, food and other artisan wares will be on display at the Warwick Easter Markets at Leslie Park.

With more than 80 stalls from the Warwick region and beyond, it's a wonderful chance to do your shopping outdoors and entertain the kids on the first day of the school holidays.

Co-ordinated by the Warwick Artist Group in conjunction with Warwick Potters Association, the fun-filled day aims to promote art and creativity while showcasing amazing stalls.

Former president of the Warwick Potters Society Sue Keong said there would be plenty of activities to entertain the whole family.

"It's a child and family-friendly event and the activities are aimed at young people to encourage them to get out and about, and art activities to do something different and be outside on a beautiful weekend,” she said.

An Easter egg hunt and visit by the Easter Bunny are essential, but the Boys and Girls Brigade will also be around to spark creative talent among the youngsters.

Children's workshops will include painting, drawing and paper craft activities.

Ms Keong said it was also a chance for the Warwick Artists Group to showcase the workshops and wares they contribute to the community.

"The Warwick Artist Group will be on-site doing painting and talking to people about what is on and the different mediums that people in the region are using,” she said.

"We have everything from painting and watercolour to life drawing.

"People can join and come along to the various workshops run by the group.”
