Horses and riders gallop into Warwick
WARWICK Horse Trials Club member Charlotte Price will compete on five horses in this weekend's Inglewood Quarries Warwick CNC One-day Event at Morgan Park.
Price won the international three-star event in Warwick in September on Kinnordy Gambia and will compete on the same horse in two star.
"It is Gambia's first run for the season so we have nominated for two star. The mare is improving on the flat in the dressage so I want a confidence building run first up," she said.
Price has lived in Australia for eight years and manages Kelecyn Equestrian Services for Kevin McNab, a Tamborine rider currently completing in England.
She hesitates when asked about Australian representation.
"I will have to do something about my nationality first, I have Australian residency and could apply for citizenship," she said.
She was a two-star rider in England and has ridden at four-star level in Australia.
Price said Warwick was a good event.
"It provides a good grounding for horses of all levels," she said.
"I like the bush course with the trees; it is good to use nature's trees to create some interesting lines. There are courses in England through forestry a bit like Warwick."
Price will have a special interest in 15 horse-and- rider combinations this weekend, riders she is coaching at Tamborine.
Action is from 8am each day at Morgan Park with 178 nominations. The popular cross country is on Sunday.
