Heavy Horse Heritage Day rescheduled for October

ONE heritage-loving man is about to turn back time for Warwick residents with annual heavy horse-themed charity day back on the agenda.

Mick Bradford's Heavy Horse Heritage Day was cancelled back in May when torrential rains hit the Southen Downs.

But festivities have been rescheduled for October 18.

Guests can expect to see a local blacksmith, wheelwrighting, haymaking, chaffmaking and corn shelling, all with true horsepower.

"It's all about the heritage side of life," Mr Bradford said.

"It's great for the kids and the young ones to see what it's all about.

"We'll have all the old machines working as best as we can."

Traditional stew, damper and tea will also be on offer and other stalls will stock local produce.

Killarney Lions Club has supported Mr Bradford by donating money and tucker for the day.

There will also be local craft and artists from the region.

All the proceeds on the day will be donated directly to CareFlight. Mr Bradford chose to raise money for the organisation after he saw how often they would fly over his property at Yangan.

He has been donating to the helicopter rescue crew for more than 14 years.

The charity day will be held at 122 Swanfels Rd, Yangan.

For information phone Mick Bradford on 4664 8209.
