HORSING AROUND: 72 pictures of Warwick's beloved friends

AFTER a long day at work, many Warwick residents can't wait to saddle up their best friend and go for a ride.

The Daily News asked residents to send in pictures of the horses they look forward to going home to.

There were brown horses and sand-coloured horses, with plenty of children enjoying their company.

Colours aren't the only thing that differ between the noble steeds.

Horses have vastly different personalities and one of the special aspects about owning a horse yourself is that you get to form a close bond with the animal.

These bonds were apparent in the pictures sent in by readers.

Some horses had been used to teach children to ride, while others were the trusty partner riders took into the competition arena.

Around Warwick, horses are more than just animals that share our properties; they become like members of the family.

Like a dog or a cat, they're there for company when times are tough and to bring a smile to glum faces.

They're also there to help make a great day even better.

More than 50 people submitted their pictures for the Daily News Facebook call out, which is testament to the special place horses hold in hearts around our town.
