Host team secures podium finish on a countback

POLOCROSSE: Tansey 1 defeated Cunningham 1 in A-grade polocrosse at Bony Mountain Recreation Reserve at the weekend.

There was a three-way tie for runner up between Cunningham 1, Warwick 1 and Chinchilla 1 as each team had two wins and two losses.

The result was determined by a countback on goals and hosts Cunningham were declared runners up.

Their 21-9 win against Gold Coast on Sunday morning was a major factor in the Cunningham goal difference.

Tansey showed their depth of players by also winning the B-grade competition with their second team.

Clifton won C grade from Stanley Rivers.

Cunningham 6 won D grade from runners up Cunningham 3. Cunningham 4 won the beaten teams in D grade. Cunningham player Billie Craninckx was best horse and rider.

New South Wales club Gulgong won the A-grade mixed competition at Cunningham.

Warwick won the junior B competition from Gold Coast.

Juniors Madeline Gleeson and Cameron Reardon won best player award for Warwick.

The Nellie Gilbert Encouragement Trophy for juniors was won by Henry Ellison from Cunningham.
