Hot predictions on the pitch and track

Maiden centuries to Warwick cricketers

Congratulations must go to Brendan Malone and Andrew Crestani on scoring their maiden centuries in Warwick club cricket this season.

Who will be the next cricketers to score maiden centuries in Warwick cricket?

From the early season form so far I am predicting that Chris Cantwell and Jordan Siebenhausen could be the next ones to register their maiden tons this season.

Wicket-keepers

There is currently a lot of debate over who should be the Test wicket-keeper in the Australian side this summer.

I personally would go with Tim Paine as I rate him a better batsman than Brad Haddin and Matthew Wade.

However I would keep Wade as the keeper in the shorter versions of the game. The unfortunate thing is that not one of these keepers is in the same league of Adam Gilchrist.

Post Ponting and Hussey

It is highly likely that Ricky Ponting and Michael Hussey will retire or be shown the door by the selectors in the next two years.

If those retirements were to happen now I think the Australian selectors would move Shane Watson into Ponting's position at second drop and bat Nic Maddison at first drop.

With Hussey's position I think that they would go with Bulls players Joe Burns now.

Horse tip

My tip for the Caulfield Cup this Saturday is last year's Melbourne Cup winner and french horse Dunaden. I believe that Dunaden is the best horse or what I like to call the cream horse in the race. Having grown up on a dairy farm; I learnt that cream always comes to the top and hence have selected Dunaden to win at good odds with the big weight as he is the classiest horse in the race.
