Hot spell with chance of a storm in Warwick
WARWICK is heading into a hot weekend with temperatures above 30 expected for the next few days.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Jim Richardson said westerly winds would cause conditions to rise to 33 degrees today.
"That's bringing in warm air from in-land parts, that's what's keeping temperatures up today,” he said.
"That's all ahead of a trough that's moving in from the far west, through Friday.”
Mr Richardson said the trough would bring the chance of showers and a storm on Friday and Saturday.
"The moisture ahead of that is making things unstable around the area,” he said.
"The set-up is favourable for some gusty storms as well.”
Between 2-10mm of rain could fall in Warwick tomorrow.
"Underneath the storm it could be a little bit more, but it will be easing into Saturday and Sunday,” Mr Richardson said.
Conditions are expected to stay warm tomorrow with a top of 34 and Saturday is predicted to reach 32 degrees.
Mr Richardson said temperatures would move closer to the December average of 29.2 on Sunday, with a top of 29 degrees predicted.
