House Rules winners set to help Warwick renovate

WINNERS of Channel Seven's House Rules Daniella and Aaron Winter will be dropping into Warwick Bunnings tomorrow to inspire residents to renovate their kitchens.

The appearance will be one of 50 the pair are making for Bunnings since winning the grand prize.

Mrs Winter said the couple were excited to come to Warwick as they have a special love for the older Queenslander houses around town.

"Old Queenslanders are great as they provide the perfect opportunity to do some restoration,” she said.

Before residents start knocking down any walls though, Mrs Winter said they need to be mindful of the history of the house and plan ahead.

"Some of these houses could be 100 years old, you need to find out that history,” she said.

"No matter what part of the house you are looking at the first step is to work out a budget and make sure the supporting structure of the house is stable.”

She also had a sneaky tip for fixing up worn out roofing.

"A lot of the time you don't even need to replace the roof, just clean it up and give it a respray, it will look good as new.”

Between being a TV personality to now running educational workshops, Mrs Winter has done a lot of learning over the past year.

"A lot of people come into the workshops not knowing anything and I tell them not be scared because I was there once,” she said.

"Every day I am learning something new, I am like a kid in a candy store I want to know about all the candy.”

Aaron and Daniella will be running the DIY workshops at Warwick Bunnings tomorrow from 5.30-8.30pm.
