Huge honour for Warwick Redbacks star

AUSSIE RULES: Warwick Redbacks player Tyhe Clarkson is pumped after being selected in the AFL South Queensland team to play North Queensland at Riverway Stadium in Townsville on Saturday.

The game will start at 4.30pm and follow an AFL game between the Gold Coast Suns and St Kilda Saints.

Clarkson said he would be watching the first half of the AFL game with his teammates.

Last month, Clarkson was named in the South Queensland squad and trained three successive Wednesdays in Brisbane before the team was selected.

"This is the highlight of my career, I am really pumped," he said.

He will be joined in the team by one Darling Downs teammate, South Toowoomba Bombers star Johnathan Leidig.

They are in a team with players from clubs such as Maroochydore, Noosa, Springwood and Brisbane club Mayne.
