Human remains found in missing woman’s car

POLICE have discovered human remains inside a car found at the bottom of a lake in Mount Isa.

Authorities were called to Moondarra Dam after a man in a boat found a green 4WD submerged in the water about 6.20pm.

Police said the car belonged to missing woman Rosemary McLean, 51, but were not able to confirm if the remains were hers.

Ms McLean was last seen at the Junction, Lake Moondarra at 9am on January 14 this year.

She was in her green 1999 Toyota Landcruiser and had two dogs with her at the time.

Officers remained at the scene overnight and police divers are expected to search the lake again on Thursday.

Police investigations are continuing.
