Hungry birds snap up #australianlife competition

A STUNNING image of a flock of hungry pelicans outside a seafood shop near the Hastings River at Port Macquarie has landed NSW's Michelle Black first prize in the inaugural #australianlife Instagram competition.

The competition asked Australians to share unique moments of life from across the nation.

Tourism Australia's head of social media Jesse Desjardins said that the response to the inaugural #australianlife Instagram competition had been incredible.

"What really made this competition stand out for us, was not just the large number of entries and high quality of photos submitted, but once again witnessing the positive force that social media and advocacy can play in helping connect people with our country," he said.
