Ice stash accused to spend Christmas in custody

A BRISBANE pair who were allegedly caught with $70,000 worth of ice in Warwick earlier this year will remain in custody until their next court appearance.

Elamir Salah Eddine Elayouby and Georgina Yiokoumi Yiakoumi had their matters mentioned at Warwick Magistrates Court this morning but no bail applications were made.

Uniformed police stopped the pair in a Holden Statesman outside the Coachman's Inn in July.

A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered 28g of methylamphetamine, or ice, which was believed to be heading to Warwick streets.

Elayouby, 30, is facing five charges including supplying dangerous drugs as well as possessing dangerous drugs and utensils.

His co-accused, 26-year-old Yiakoumi, has been charged with six offences including supplying and possessing dangerous drugs and drug driving.

The pair are scheduled to face court again on February 19.

Neither of the defendants appeared in court this morning.
