Parishioners share the true spirit of Christmas

PUTTING the Christ back into Christmas is the goal for parishioners this festive season, as they spread the traditional message to shoppers in the Rose City Shoppingworld.

Christmas Down Under provides a free opportunity for the region's children and their carers to experience the Christian message of the first Christmas.

Volunteer parishioners from Warwick's Christian churches use themed craft; face painting, story-telling and interactive figurines to demonstrate that Jesus is the reason for the season.

The actions as much as the words gently convey the message to the adults as well as the children that the often stressful round of shopping, gifts and partying is not the real story of Christmas.

Children are invited to bring along their family members to have a free family photograph taken around the nativity scene.

This will be mounted on a special souvenir card which includes a Christmas themed story and a puzzle.
