Scullion promises 200 indigenous mining jobs for CQ

INDIGENOUS Affairs Minister Nigel Scullion has promised to get 200 indigenous central Queenslanders into jobs in the mining industry.

Senator Scullion on Wednesday announced a new vocational training and employment centre in CQ, as part of the government's commitment to get 5000 indigenous Australians into jobs by July 2015.

While the centres, to be launched around the country, have not been established yet, there will be centre sin both central and northern Queensland.

Senator Scullion said the CQ centre would offer guaranteed jobs for 200 people to enter the mining industry and provide training to do so.
