RUGBY UNION: Interstate sevens rugby will be played at The Scots PGC College and Risdon Oval on October 29 as part of the annual Scots PGC Sevens.

Past Scots PGC student Emily Bass is in the Queensland women's team to play four games against New South Wales.

It is expected some players from the gold medal winning team at the Rio Olympics will play.

Scots PGC director of co-curricular Damien Cahill said he had seen a list of the New South Wales team which included Australian player Rachel Crothers, who scored a memorable try at the Dubai Sevens.

"Emily is part of the Queensland women's squad. Both interstate squads will use the tournament in Warwick as part of their preparation for the nationals in Perth in December,” Cahill said.

Scots PGC will host 30 teams in three competitions as part of its second annual sevens rugby carnival.

The carnival will attract teams from as far as Rockhampton and Armidale in under-14, U16 and U18 age groups in boys and girls.
