Intruders startled after break and enters at Bargara

INTRUDERS were startled by homeowners in Bargara on Saturday night after they broke into two homes.

Bargara police went to two homes in Bussey St that were broken into between 9.20pm and 9.35pm.

The residents were home at the time of the break-in and were able to scare off the unknown offender/s.

Occupants of one home still had to face the shock of being victimised due to items of property being stolen from unsecured vehicles.

Police said while people should be able to enjoy the comforts of their homes, disappointingly there were offenders who looked for opportunities to steal property from places that are not secure and gain entry to our living areas.

They said it included vehicles with unlocked doors and property contained in easy to reach areas.

People are advised to look into conducting their own home security audit and install security screens for windows and doors as an extra level of strengthened protection.

Police said for those who are renting should ask real estate agents to contact the landlord and request to have these items installed.

If you have any information which will assist investigators on the robberies mentioned above, contact Policelink on 131 444.
