Investigations continue into Warwick man killed by 4WD

POLICE are keeping tight-lipped about investigations into the death of John Alldridge, a man struck and killed by a four-wheel drive Sunday night.

While no charges have yet to be laid, the forensic crash unit is trying to determine whether the 75-year-old victim was walking alongside the road or crossing it at the time of the crash.

Initial investigations revealed the Warwick man driving the four-wheel drive was on the outside lane of Wood St heading west, when he hit Mr Alldridge.

A police media spokesman said it could take months for the investigation unit to finish its work.

"Basically, a brief of evidence will be put together and it will be handed to the coroner," the spokesman said.

If you saw anything Sunday night between 7pm and 7.30pm on the corner of Wantley and Wood Sts that could aid investigations, call Warwick police on 4660 4444, Policelink on 131 444 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
