It was a mixed week for the Heat in Big Bash cricket

CRICKET: The Brisbane Heat came away from Adelaide with two wins in three games late last week.

Warwick has one player in each Heat team, Delissa Kimmince in the women's combination and Mark Steketee in the men's team.

The Heat women only lost three wickets in scoring two wins against the Adelaide Strikers in WBBL games late in the week.

Batting first for the second time in three days on Sunday, Adelaide made 7-119 off 20 overs with Warwick all rounder Delissa Kimmince conceding 11 runs in her one over.

The Heat won with 2-122 with Beth Mooney unbeaten on 81. For the second time in two games, Kimmince was next in when the winning runs were scored.

On Friday, Mooney hit an unbeaten 86 as the Heat scored 1-116 to beat the Strikers.

Kimmince took 0-24 off four overs bowling first change as Adelaide made 6-113 off their 20 overs.

With three wins from six games and a form explosion by Mooney, the Heat are now right in the mix for the finals with eight games to go.

Tough night for Heat men

IN men's cricket, the Heat went down by 56 runs to the Strikers in the late Sunday game at Adelaide Oval.

Warwick paceman Mark Steketee took 1-26 off four overs in the Adelaide 7-147, good economy considering he bowled in the power play and at the end of the innings.

The Heat was out for 91 in 16.2 over, Steketee bowled by Ben Laughlin for two off five balls.

Brisbane men to MCG

BRISBANE will now prepare for the men's game against the Melbourne Stars at the MCG at 6.10pm Tuesday.

The Heat is currently fifth on the BBL table with two wins and two losses while the Stars will be desperate for a win after two losses in their only two games.

The only change to the Heat squad of 13 is the addition of batsman Sam Heazlett in place of all rounder Jason Floros.

The next home game for the Heat men will be at the Gabba on Friday night against Perth Scorchers. All tickets to the Gabba Big Bash cricket through Ticketmaster.
