Five men charged for drug and firearm offences
WARWICK police charged five men for drug and firearm offences after a series of raids yesterday. Five separate properties were raided during the day.
Station officer-in-charge Darren Tamblyn said several large marijuana plants were seized from a property at Thanes Creek, just outside Warwick.
"A 39-year-old man at the property was charged for possession and dealing dangerous drugs," said Warwick Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Sergeant Tamblyn.
A raid at Stonehenge, near Leyburn, was conducted at the same time as the Thanes Creek search. Police arrested a 53-year-old man for unlawful production of drugs, possession and having two unregistered and unlicensed firearms and ammunition at the property.
A 19-year-old Warwick man was also charged with possession of amphetamines after his property on Victoria St was raided. A 23-year-old Warwick man was charged with possession of a drug utensil.
Another man, 40, will face court over possession of dangerous drugs. All of the men are due to face Warwick Magistrates Court over the coming week.
