It's all go for a big Christmas in July

WHOEVER said Christmas was only a once-a-year event, was not part of the Warwick Charity Markets committee, because they are all about celebrating mid-year too.

Come July 21, the Town Hall carpark will be packed with stalls, activities and even the big fella in red, for Christmas in July.

While they hold the charity markets every first and third Sunday of the month, market organiser Virgil Bradfield said the Christmas-themed annual day was a fun way to help out a good cause.

"Santa will be there and we'll have a scavenger hunt and a treasure hunt, entertainment and a jumping castle as well as the old vintage cars and all the stalls," Mr Bradfield said.

Cost to set up a stall is $2.50 for your first time, and $5 every time after that.

All money raised goes towards community projects around Warwick.

"If someone's house burns down, we can then help them or if they get flooded," Mr Bradfield said.

"We've got two shipping containers worth of stuff here that has been donated that we will sell."

Mr Bradfield and his partner Maggie Kask started up the markets about seven years ago and said it was an important part of the Warwick community. Last year, about 25 stallholders set up, and this year they're hoping to get about the same again.

Christmas in July is on July 21, from 8am to 12pm.
