It's all play in new shed
IT was all smiles at Freestone State School yesterday, as the playgroup christened their newly renovated shed.
The school received an $18,000 grant from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund, allowing it to turn its vision of a playground and activity area into a reality.
Playgroup representative Helena Oloman said the children were so excited to see it had been renovated.
"We built a fence, got blinds, cupboards and a sink put in, all the toys and play equipment," Mrs Oloman said.
"The kids didn't know what to do first, then it was trying to get them home, they didn't want to leave."
But it wasn't just the new equipment keeping them entertained yesterday. "Today is the opening day, so we have the animal farm here and a few special things to celebrate," Mrs Oloman said.
From a bare wooden frame to a brightly decorated parlour of games, toys and endless activities, Freestone State School is thrilled with its new shed.
