It's showtime for Anneliese

THE first Warwick Showgirl entrant for 2012 has thrown her hat into the ring - and she is no rookie.

Warwick woman Anneliese Mickan entered the princess category in last year's quest and is back again this year for a shot at the Showgirl title.

The 18-year-old Warwick woman said she had a blast during last year's event and knew at the show ball that it was something she wanted to do again.

"I was going to leave it a year but since I am going to TAFE now and not working, I thought it would be a good time to do it," she said.

Miss Mickan said she hoped by entering the quest she could be a role model for other teenagers in the community. "I want to show young people that there are positive things to do in Warwick," she said.

Having competed in the event last year, Miss Mickan said she was again looking forward to the glamorous show ball and awarding ribbons to winners of all the different show categories.

Miss Mickan is sponsored by the Prime Cattle and Lamb Committee of the Warwick Show Society and plans to hold an old time dance night as her fundraiser on February 25.

The night will include dancing, supper, lucky number boards and raffles, tickets are $15.
