Lights, camera, action at Clifton for TV mini-series Wanted
CLIFTON residents could be forgiven for thinking they had awoken on a movie set this week with filming under way for the television mini-series Wanted.
Clifton Auto Electrical and Mechanical was transformed into a movie set on Tuesday, much to the delight of six-year-old Jack Finger.
"Jack is still talking about it and reciting lines," his mum Nadia Finger said yesterday.
"He had the day off school because it was a really good life experience. He really got a lot out of it."
Mrs Fingers said the filming had been pre-arranged after a team came through and booked the location.
"They were really excited about the building, saying it had a lot of texture," she said.
"I just laughed - I couldn't believe they wanted to use such an old, dirty building."
Mrs Finger said crew members were very considerate, giving plenty of notice so that arrangements could be made to set the day aside for filming.
"We would like to thank our customers for their understanding," Mrs Finger said. "The crew were terrific. They worked around all our stuff and cleaned everything up afterwards."
Mrs Finger said although it did have some impact on their business, they were compensated and customers had been very understanding.
"The filming crew and public relations team were really good to deal with. They let Jack hold things and showed him how things looked after they were filmed," she said. "We were even able to still serve a few customers for small things during filming."
Mrs Finger said she felt the filming in Clifton was great, with this being the third production involving the building.
"It's something out of the ordinary, seeing how it's done," she said.
While no celebrities were spotted on set, apprentice Jim Garton's commodore ute and owner Mick Finger's old ute made an appearance during filming.
Mrs Finger said there had been minimal road closures in the area, with crew being careful to avoid disrupting the community as much as possible.
"The crew would wait for trucks to go through before quickly closing the road and filming," she said.
Mrs Finger said she wouldn't hesitate to be involved in such a production in future.
