Jade's Journey: Completing my bucket list for my dad
In 2009 my dad sadly passed away at the young age of 42 after a 1 year battle with Cancer. He had left it to long before going to the doctors and it was incurable. His cancer had spread over the majority of his body from his brain, to blood, to throat and other places. I was told a bit of information about my dad's cancer but mostly we didn't talk about it and appreciated the times we had together.
After my dad passed away I decided I wasn't going to let life slip away. I want to do everything in life. So I created my bucket list (Jades Journey). I will be starting to do activities from my bucket list on August 11th 2014 which would be my dad's birthday. In memory of him I aim to tick off all the items on my list. I am always adding things to the bucket list as there are always new things to try. There is no time limit on me doing this as I want to continue doing it for the rest of my life no matter how long or short that time may be.
I am going to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer through as many of the activities as possible. Macmillan helped my dad so much and I could never thank them for how comfortable they made my dad feel in his last year and how giving and helpful they were. I also hope to raise cancer awareness and information about cancer I learn and hope to help someone through my blog in some way even if it is just understanding what cancer is. It is still surprising how many people ignore and avoid things to do with cancer for different reason.
In April 2015 I am hosting a Charity Black and White Gala to raise money for Macmillan. I am inviting celebrities to attend the Gala and also selling tickets to people all over the UK. The event is going to be an amazing Red Carpet event that will make everyone feel like a celebrity for the night, there will also be many activities at the event including a 3 course meal for all ticket buyers.
